Descrição: O artigo objetiva descrever as etapas de implantação de um sistema de controles de gestão, com ênfase em custos, em uma empresa industrial de porte médio. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, com abordagem qualitativa, realizado por meio de um estudo de caso, em uma indústria de porte médio, fabricante de tubos, tubetes e conicais de papel e papelão. Os dados foram obtidos através de visitas à indústria, acompanhamento e verificação do seu processo produtivo, análise de documentos, além de entrevistas não estruturadas, com os gestores e funcionários da empresa. De posse desses dados elaborou-se uma proposta de etapas de implantação de um sistema de controle de gestão na empresa, com ênfase nos custos, bem como, foram sugeridos alguns controles para acompanhar a produção.
