metadata.atena.dc.description: Dados do SEBRAE revelam que o índice de mortalidade de pequenas empresas brasileiras é elevado, sendo algumas das causas o comportamento empreendedor pouco desenvolvido e a insuficiência de políticas de apoio aos pequenos negócios. Esse cenário pode ser minimizado por meio do processo de internacionalização, com o apoio de políticas públicas voltadas para a abertura de mercados externos. O objetivo do estudo é conhecer peculiaridades acerca do processo de internacionalização de 24 pequenas empresas que estavam expondo seus produtos em stands no 124º Encontro do Comércio Exterior e depois identificar grupos homogêneos de empresas. Realizou-se pesquisa qualitativa, por meio de estudos multicasos, e quantitativamente efetuou-se análise de agrupamentos. Os achados da pesquisa mostraram que a maioria das empresas pesquisadas já se internacionalizou, enfrentam barreiras burocráticas, tributárias e culturais para exportar e recebem algum apoio de órgãos governamentais. This scenario can be minimised through the process of internationalization, with the support of public policies geared to the opening of foreign markets. The objective of the study is known peculiarities about the process of internationalization of 24 small companies that were exhibiting their products at 124th stands at of Foreign Trade and then identify homogeneous groups of companies.
