Descrição: RESUMEN Es indudable que el desarrollo del comercio internacional contribuye al progreso de los países, lo cierto es que el aumento de esta actividad exige eficiencia en los nodos de la red comercial, lo que delega a los puertos el reto de buscar la competitividad en la prestación de cada uno de sus servicios. Es por ello que el objetivo de este estudio es realizar un análisis de las fortalezas y oportunidades, debilidades y amenazas (FODA) del Puerto de Tampico, Tamaulipas, México y, de este modo, determinar las posibles formas de aprovechamiento de los recursos físicos a fin de lograr la necesaria eficiencia portuaria. Is for it that the aim of this study is to realize an analysis of the Strengths, Weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) of the Port of Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico and, thus, to determine the possible forms of utilization of the physical resources in order to achieve the necessary port efficiency.
